ART FOR CLIMATE
In our unabated effort at sensitizing humanity even at a very young age, so that they get acquainted with climate related issues and cut down on the use of ozone-depleting products as they grow up, we visit schools and teach the young ones what there is to know about our dear planet as it relates to climate and how they in their own little way can contribute and make positive changes.
It is pertinent that youngsters get to know about the climate, the things we do that has an impact on it and proffer solutions to these climatic imbalances. We encourage youngsters to care for and embrace the environment in their neighborhood.
In light of this, we participated in an exercise organized for high school students in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The theme for this exercise was tagged ART FOR CLIMATE. The students were full of enthusiasm as they participated actively in this exercise. In order to show their readiness to join the fight against Global warming and climate change, these youngsters across various schools presented a work of art, designed by them — a parachute depicting man’s activities and nature’s response.
Without any doubt, climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing Humanity in our day. More appalling is that it has a ripples effect. Certainly, something can be done to curb this global threat. A little effort here and that would make a change.
The leaders of tomorrow, the little ones of today have joined the fight so that they can have a better world in the future. They are letting out their voices through art. A work of art says a lot. Whether young or old, we can make a change in our community. Let’s chart the course, the future is now.
